We acknowledge that Shawnee-Evergreen community is located on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations), the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda Nations (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations). This is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. Indigenous peoples continue to live in and contribute to this region today.

As residents of the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta, we seek to live, work, and play in ways that honour and respect the spirit of the treaties and the lives of our Indigenous neighbours.
