Children’s Program Lead

Children’s Program Lead
~4–6 hrs/month (Sept–June) | 2 people

Help bring fun, engaging programs for young children to life in our community. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys planning activities.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop ideas for children’s programs (e.g., arts, recreation, seasonal events)

  • Plan and coordinate programs from start to finish

  • Book instructors, spaces, and any required materials

  • Create simple budgets and ensure programs stay within scope

  • Coordinate promotion and registration (if required)

  • Work with the Communications Team to share program details

  • Gather feedback and help improve future programming

What we’re looking for:

  • Organized and proactive

  • Enjoys working with families and community programs

  • Comfortable planning and coordinating activities or events

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

Time commitment:

  • ~4–6 hours per month

  • Flexible, with slightly higher time during program planning or launch periods

Good to know:

  • This role will start by developing ideas—children’s programs are not currently running

  • You won’t be doing this alone—SECA will support you with mentorship and guidance

  • We have a strong volunteer network and will help recruit additional volunteers as programs take shape
