Youth Program Lead
~4–6 hrs/month (Sept–June) | 2 people

Help create and grow programs and events designed for youth in our community. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys planning activities and wants to help shape youth programming from the ground up.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop ideas for youth programs and events (e.g., recreation, workshops, social events)

  • Gain support of Board for program portfolio

  • Plan and coordinate programs from start to finish

  • Help lead and organize the Youth Zone at our annual Picnic in the Park

  • Book facilitators, spaces, and any required materials

  • Create simple budgets and ensure programs stay within scope

  • Coordinate promotion and registration (if required)

  • Work with the Communications Team to share program details and develop promotional items

  • Gather feedback and identify improvements for future programming

What we’re looking for:

  • Organized and proactive

  • Interested in youth engagement and community programming

  • Comfortable planning and coordinating activities or events

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

Time commitment:

  • ~4–6 hours per month (Sept–June)

  • Flexible, with higher time around events (e.g., Picnic in the Park)

Good to know:

  • This role will start by developing ideas—programs may vary year to year

  • You won’t be doing this alone - experienced SECA volunteers will support you with mentorship and guidance

  • SECA has a strong volunteer network and SECA will help recruit additional volunteers as programs take shape
