~24 hrs total (prior to event) + ~8 hrs on event day | 2 people
Lead the planning and execution of SECA’s annual Community Clean-Up—one of our largest and most well-attended events. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organizing events and coordinating logistics.
What you’ll do:
Plan and coordinate the annual Community Clean-Up event (typically held in September)
Submit application (February)
Attend the City of Calgary online information session (April)
Arrange service providers (e.g., metal recycling, e-waste, clothing donations, bikes)
Recruit and organize volunteers (multiple shifts throughout the day)
Work with the Events Committee to support planning and logistics
Work with the Communications Team to share event details and develop promotional items
Work within the board approved budget for the event
Oversee event-day operations and liaise with City personnel as a site manager
Submit event report to the City of Calgary
What we’re looking for:
Organized and detail-oriented
Comfortable coordinating logistics and timelines
Strong communication and volunteer coordination skills
Able to manage a larger event with multiple moving parts
Time commitment:
~24 hours total leading up to the event (spread over several months)
~8 hours on event day
Good to know:
This is a well-established annual event with a proven structure
You’ll be supported by SECA and the Events Committee
