Development Director

Board role · ~10–12 hrs/month (July/August off) | 1 person

Help represent community interests in planning and development matters. This Board-level role acts as SECA’s main connection to the City on development-related issues.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as SECA’s designated contact for development and planning notices from the City

  • Review development applications and circulate for input where appropriate

  • Provide comments or responses to the City on behalf of SECA

  • Advise the Board on development and planning matters affecting the community

  • Chair the Planning & Development Committee (if established)

  • Participate in relevant City or community meetings, workshops, or forums

  • Contribute to development-related communications as needed

What we’re looking for:

  • Interest in urban planning, development, or community growth

  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills

  • Comfortable reviewing documents and forming balanced recommendations

  • Able to represent community perspectives in a professional manner

Time commitment:

  • ~10–12 hours per month (July/August off)

Good to know:

  • This is a Board of Directors position

  • Must be a SECA member in good standing

  • Requires adherence to SECA’s Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy
